My family and I traveled to Costa Rica during Christmas holidays. What a country! The meaning behind the constant call of "Pura Vida!" becomes evidently clear after just a short amount of time in the jungle or the beach. We spent time in the Parque Nacional Tortuguero in the north, exploring the rainforest/river ecosystems. On the southern Caribbean coast we enjoyed the ocean and wandered around Puerto Viejo. I have always been partial to the tropics, particularly in the jungle, and Costa Rica only enforced my love for the climate. Wherever we traveled in this gorgeous country people were incredibly friendly. I would be remiss if I did not mention the brilliant breakfasts of gallo pinto and fresh fruit. Unbeatable.
